BEHIND THE CURTAIN: Several of Ryan Donnell excellent photographs from his long-term Polling Place Project from Fortune’s 10/29 issue.

Ryan writes about the beginning of the project “My wife is political reporter and covers city hall, so we’re both political junkies. In 2008, during the election, I didn’t have any assignments to do anything so I was feeling at a loss. I had been voting at an Italian Social Club, and based on my wife’s suggestion started finding more strange places people vote. With help from friends I made a list of polling stations from the Philadelphia Commissioners Office and the County Board of Elections, and come election day I got in the car and drove all around.” Several years later, Ryan compiled the project into a hardcover monograph, Behind the Curtain, now available on Blurb.

After branching out to Chicgao, next stop for Ryan is California “This year I’m going to LA. In LA, they apparently use the life guard shacks in Venice Beach.”

Billion Dollar Babies: This Len DeLessio’s gem runs in Fortune’s Second Act story on Neal Smith’s new career in Real Estate.

Len made the photo of Alice Cooper (holding baby) with drummer Neal Smith between shows at the Academy of Music in their hotel room in New York on December 1, 1971 while a photo student at SVA in New York. Len adds “The photo of Alice, Neal and the baby was part of the fun atmosphere that we had going. It was intended to be a far reaching play on the Grant Wood painting, “American Gothic”

Len reconnected with the remaining members of Alice Cooper before their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011. “I’ve had some very friendly meetings with Alice recently where we tried to figure out who’s baby he had on his lap. The identity of the baby is still unknown.”

That baby would now be 42!
