In the latest issue of Fortune, a map showing the submarine fiber-optic cables connecting the continents and allowing the internet to be global.

The map was created in ArcGIS and Adobe Illustrator by Nicolas Rapp. Chad McCabe designed the pages.

The projection used for the global map is a Lambert Azimuthal.
